Philadelphia Eagles player Michael Carter II is making an impact beyond the football field, this time by helping 30 new and expectant mothers in Philadelphia get a little extra support.
The defensive back’s foundation hosted “Baby Shower on the Block” in South Philadelphia on Tuesday night, bringing together moms for a free community celebration filled with baby essentials, food, gifts and valuable resources.
But the event was about more than just presents. Mothers also received maternal health resources and connections to organizations that provide ongoing support for families.

For the 30 women who attended, the event offered more than a traditional baby shower. It was an opportunity to connect with community resources as they prepare for or navigate life with a new baby.
Carter married his high school sweetheart, and they have a daughter. He proudly sported a “Girl Dad” hat at the baby shower, bringing a personal touch to an event.
