Five Arrested Over Alleged Series of Residential Burglaries

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division revealed the arrests of 5 men in connection with a series of house robberies in the San Fernando Valley. In a press statement released Tuesday, detectives revealed they found the suspects in connection with a series of burglaries that took place in February of this year.

LAPD revealed the names and mugshots of the five suspects in hopes of finding other unreported burglaries connected to them.

“Robbery-Homicide Division identified and arrested Manuel Nava and Michael Lewis. The subsequent investigation linked Manuel Nava, Brett Baily, Elijah Smith and Tonice Davis to burglaries in the City of Downey,” the statement revealed.

Four of the suspects are between 18 and 22 years old. Davis is aged 32. Their assigned bail ranges from $90,000 for Davis to $165,000 for Nava.

Attached to the press release is video footage of the incidents. The alleged robbers can be seen crouching over broken glass with a radio communication device, presumably breaking into one of the robbed homes.

Alongside the video and mugshots were pictures of the items that detectives seized from the alleged perpetrators.

“During the service of search and arrest warrants, detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division seized evidence related to these crimes, including hand-held radios, masks, gloves, Wi-Fi jammers, two vehicles and a cache of weapons and ammunition,” the statement reads.

Both names and mugshots were released specifically in an effort to continue the investigation as more victims report other connected burglaries.
