(KRON) -- Safeway will be closing one of its San Jose grocery stores next month, a spokesperson confirmed to KRON4.
The 6150 Bollinger Rd. location is expected to shut its doors on or around Nov. 13. The store sits within the Orchard Farms Shopping Center in West San Jose, bordering the City of Cupertino to the north.
“All associates will keep their jobs and be assigned to another store in the geographic area, consistent with the collective bargaining agreements,” a Safeway spokesperson said. San Jose has 13 other Safeway locations, including one less than a mile away from the Bollinger Road store, at 5146 Stevens Creek Blvd.

The spokesperson continued, “We have been proud to serve the neighborhoods in this part of San Jose over the years, and this decision was not made lightly. We remain dedicated to serving the community at numerous nearby Safeway locations in San Jose.”
