The Broad to Bring 164 Artworks to Paris in 2027

The Paris-based Fondation is partnering with the Broad to bring 164 works to the Frank Gehry-designed museum from April 21 to Aug. 30, 2027.

“We are two quite young institutions, both over a decade old, and we share a common purpose to present a deeper understanding of 20th- and 21st-century art,” said Joanne Heyler, founding director and president of The Broad.

The Broad’s postwar and contemporary art collection, which focuses on U.S. artists, will be showcased in an expanded space set to open in 2028. The expansion will accommodate the museum’s growing audience and collection, including acquisitions that have never been displayed publicly.

Spanning art scenes from New York to Los Angeles, the exhibition offers a broad survey of American art, featuring Pop Art, works by a younger generation of artists and major pieces by leading figures, including Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami and William Kentridge.

Recent additions to the Broad Gallery will also be displayed in Paris.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton and The Broad opened October 2014 and September 2015 respectively.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton has brought many major exhibits since its conception. Popular works include Shchukin (2016), Morozov (2021), MoMA (2017), Courtauld (2019) and currently Gustave Fayet with The Broad in Paris.

“The collection’s clear and committed choices, both in its selection of artists, represented in depth, and of works that promote social values of inclusivity and tolerance,” Artistic Director of the Fondation Louis Vuitton Suzanne Pagé said.
